About Tori

My teaching background is diverse, equipping me to work with a vast range of learning needs. My educational background is in Psychology, which has awarded me the unique understanding of human behavior and learning. Additionally, I have over 10 years experience working with people.

I enjoy making learning fun, finding ways to help people engage in the classroom, and seeing them achieve a new skill. My desire is to make learning achievable.

I have always enjoyed working with people. I began teaching in a non-profit organization setting in 2012 and have found myself in teaching roles ever since.

I have a BA in Psychology and have over 10 years experience working with people in the helping profession. I have worked in the public school system for one year. For the past three years I have been teaching ESL after receiving training in online learning. Previously, however, I tutored adults and have worked with children in some capacity for most of my life.

About the lesson

I like to first get an idea of expectations for student learning and identify problem areas. I then like to meet the student to get acquainted with them and them with me. This also allows me to better understand their personality and learning style before we begin working together.

I have worked with a vast variety of students - adults to children, those whose first language is not English, online and in person. I have also taught students at varying levels of learning.

Everyone learns differently. It is important to try and find a teacher who best matches individual learning styles. Also critical is finding a teacher who communicates well and understands the learning process.

I am currently pursing my Masters of Arts degree and crossed the half way mark in my studies, with exceptional grades and evaluations. I am incredibly proud of this accomplishment.
