About Katie
Every child has the ability to learn and develop a love of learning. It is my job to figure out how to make that happen. I offer engaging and fun activities in every subject. I really get to know my students and what they are most interested in. I not only design my lessons based on a student's strengths and needs, but I keep his or her interests in mind as well. As you know, sometimes math can be a challenge. It is for this reason that I provide hands-on manipulatives to make basic math concepts not only more clear to the student, but also fun. We all know that children learn best when they're having fun. I am also a mother and I know first-hand how difficult it is to watch your child struggle in school. Every child is unique and capable of doing great things, just not always at the same pace and in the same way as expected in a traditional school setting. I would be happy to develop a positive relationship with you and your children and to give them the necessary skills to be successful, life-long learners. I can provide my services within the convenience of your home, or virtually.
Every child has the ability to learn and develop a love of learning. It is my job to figure out how to make that happen. I have my certification in early childhood education (B-2) and I am a literacy specialist. I taught prek/ UPK for a total of 5 years, was a kindergarten teaching assistant, taught second grade this past school year, and have tutored students ranging from age 3 all the way up through high school. I love working with students one-on-one so that I can really focus on their individual needs. I am also a mother and I know first-hand how difficult it is to watch your child struggle in school. I can provide my services within the convenience of your home, or virtually.
