About Andrea m

Hi There! ^_^

My name is Andrea ("On-Dray-Ah"). I have been an educator for 10+ years and have been teaching online since 2020.

I have a wide range of experiences: tutoring children from 5-10 years old, to teens, high school students, and even taught at the university level supporting college students.

Additionally, I enjoy supporting children & adult English-Second-Language learners.

What makes me special as a tutor is that I make the effort to build a relationship with each student. I get to know them, their interests, hopes- and apply that to their learning.

Tutoring is a space of practice. I make sure tutoring feels different than school- it's a time to explore, try new things, and have fun!

My first job in education was in 4th grade when I tutored my neighbor! I was her tutor all the way up until I graduated from high school. I absolutely loved it!

I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree. In my 8 years as a professional, I have taught 1 graduate course and 7 undergraduate courses.

About the lesson

Students are first and foremost, individuals with motivations, feelings, dreams, and fears. I do my best to learn about my students and their specific needs & interests, and then from there supporting them. Each student is unique and beautiful in their own way. I want to help them discover that for themselves as they continue their education adventure. To me, education should be an avenue for students to explore their potential. That is what I do and provide as a tutor.

Perfect! My 7 year old loves and looks forward to her weekly writing sessions with Andrea.
Andrea makes the session fun and engaging all while enhancing my child's vocabulary and descriptive writing techniques. What used to be a couple sentence story is now a couple pages long. Thank you Andrea!

She makes you feel comfortable to where if you don’t agree with her suggestion you don’t have to go with it. I definitely used took all her suggestions. My essay is now better thanks to her! My son really loves Ms.Reyes. She is so kind, patient with the kids. She makes learning fun, she interacts great with the kids and encourages them to participate. My son really enjoys her teaching techniques and loves how she breaks down everything and allows him to really understand the topic.
