About Vanessa

Social studies is an important educational factor to ensure the understanding of human life, our achievements and our mistakes. It has always been my passion to teach in a vibrant way, catered to how my students learn the best and with exciting ways to make the course work interesting, whilst delivering great results.

I have been tutoring students during my time in high school as a English and History student and am currently completing my degree in Humanities, majoring in History and Sociology.

I take pride in bonding with my students and ensure that they are learning in a comfortable space and pace, and try to ensure that each lesson is a success.

I have graduated at Fairmont High School in Cape Town, where I received a distinction in both English and History and am currently attending Stellenbosch University to complete my Bachelors Degree in Humanities, which will ultimately allow me to become a history teacher.

I look forward to helping you achieve your expectations, whilst inspiring you to do your best through learning in a fun and exciting way.

It has always been a passion of mine and I began tutoring students whilst attending high school and always received great results. Thus, after I have completed my degree I can pursue my teaching career in History.

I have graduated from high school with a distinction in both History (93%) and English (90%) and am currently completely my Bachelors Degree in Humanities at Stellenbosch University.

About the lesson

I start off with getting to know the student and their strengths and weaknesses in order to create a learning strategy and notes that are catered specifically for that student and the way they learn in order to achieve the best results.

I have worked with students who struggle to concentrate and grasp the content as well as students who are uninspired to study. By working with such students, I have been able to come up with fun and new ways to teach students.

Although experience is important, it is also important to find a teacher that you feel comfortable with and gives you an exciting feeling to learn the content. A teacher with passion is always the best option for students, whether they enjoy the subject or not.
