About Abagail
I am a Senior music Education major at Huntingdon College in Montgomery AL. I am a member of the marching Scarlet and Grey as well as the concert band and basketball pep band. I'm the flute Captain and first chair as well as a brother of the music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. I am experienced flute player with connections in the music field and can help you gain information and an insight into the music Education field as well as new ways to learn and enjoy the flute.
It's great experience for me and I enjoy teaching music. I have loved music for over half my life now and I would be honored to pass that same interest in the universal language on to younger generations.
I wanted to teach music since freshman year of high school. I was inspired by my high school band director.
I'm a music Education major. I have had my background check, fingerprints, and I have taken the common core (praxis) exam for educators in the state of Alabama. I am not yet certified due to covid. I have taken 3 levels of education courses, music theory, sight singing, piano, private lessons, vocal, and a variety of other courses expected of a music educator.

I like to get to know my students and assess where their playing abilities are. I focus mainly on sight reading and techniques.
I have worked with children of different ethnicities and children with disabilities.
Make sure they're in it for music. In my experience, some private instructors have no idea what they're doing and don't really help you improve.
Before covid my college band was about to hold a spring concert and our yearly honor band.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Don't be afraid to ask questions! We want to know how you're feeling. It's a great help to know your comfort level and how you feel about the music.

I genuinely enjoy what I do so I only ask for $20 an hour. I just ask you have your own instrument. I well provide you with music.
