About Kim
I am Muhammad Akmal Hakim bin Hishammuddin, a passionate swimmer and experienced instructor who believes in the importance of water safety, technique, and confidence in the water. With a strong background in teaching and coaching, I enjoy helping individuals of all ages and skill levels develop their swimming abilities, whether they are beginners learning the basics or advanced swimmers refining their techniques. I want to teach swimming because I see it as an essential life skill that promotes fitness, safety, and personal growth. I take a patient, structured, and engaging approach, ensuring my students feel comfortable while steadily improving their strokes, endurance, and water confidence. Teaching allows me to share my love for swimming, help others overcome their fears, and inspire them to enjoy the water as much as I do.

As a swimming instructor, my teaching methodology focuses on building water confidence, stroke efficiency, and safety awareness through a structured yet adaptable approach. I emphasize a mix of demonstration, guided practice, and individualized feedback to ensure students develop proper techniques while enjoying the learning process. A typical lesson lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, incorporating warm-ups, skill drills, endurance training, and cooldowns. With experience coaching beginners to intermediate swimmers, I hold relevant certifications in water safety and swimming instruction, along with a strong background in sports coaching. My lessons cater to children (ages 5 and up), teenagers, and adults, whether they are learning to swim for the first time, improving their technique, or training for competitions.
