About Kim
I am Muhammad Akmal Hakim bin Hishammuddin, a researcher and aspiring professor specializing in urban planning, low-carbon sustainability, and geotechnical hazard risks. With a strong background in civil engineering from Tongji University and experience at the UTM Low Carbon Asia Research Center, I am passionate about shaping the future of sustainable urban development. I want to teach because I believe in the power of education to drive positive change. Sharing my expertise allows me to inspire the next generation of engineers, planners, and sustainability leaders. I am committed to equipping students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to tackle real-world challenges, from climate resilience to smart city development. My teaching methodology focuses on an interactive and student-centered approach, combining theoretical concepts with practical applications to enhance understanding. I incorporate real-world examples, case studies, and problem-solving exercises to ensure students grasp complex ideas effectively. A typical lesson lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the topic and student needs. With a background in civil engineering and urban planning, along with experience at the UTM Low Carbon Asia Research Centre, I bring both academic expertise and industry knowledge to my tutoring sessions. My lessons are designed for university students, particularly those studying civil engineering, urban planning, and sustainability-related fields, as well as professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of these subjects.
