About Lauren

I am a well traveled, educated, friendly, creative, funny individual who enjoys meeting and working with people from different cultures. I have a passion for helping others and I am very compassionate and knowledgeable.

I've always loved language and words and being able to work with them is a joy for me. I also feel I learn from those I teach. I get to incorporate my diverse life experience into making life easier for someone. I get to make new acquaintances and friends from all over the world.

My mother was a teacher and I grew up visiting her classroom. I got certified in TESOL and TEYL then taught online and due to having studied French in school since I was 13, I worked as a bilingual substitute.

BFA in liberal arts where I studied three languages in addition to being a life long speaker of French; two certificates in English teaching- TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners), a certificate in basic linguistics, experience as a bilingual French/English substitute teacher, and over a year and a half of teaching English online to students of all ages and levels, one on one and in groups.

About the lesson

I ascertain the student's needs and ways of learning and use a friendly and eclectic approach backed in my years of working with and studying ESL, translation, bilingualism, dialects and linguistics.

Be open to any method that might help you, don't be afraid to make mistakes as that is the only way you learn, and don't be afraid to ask for a certain way of approaching things, whether that be in the type of material we use in the lesson or what in particular you want to focus on.
