About Johanna Maria
Do people have trouble understanding you when you speak English? Does this cause problems communicating? Do you feel anxious when you need to speak at your business or school, or with your kids' teachers? Is public speaking a challenge? I love helping people improve their ability to communicate in English. My specialty is coaching the pronunciation of English sounds and the rhythm and intonation of spoken English. When you learn to speak with the natural rhythm and melody of English, you will find that people understand you more easily, and you will comprehend spoken English better too!
I am a certified TESOL instructor with six years' experience teaching ESL and accent reduction to English learners. Because I have studied several languages myself (French, Italian, and German), I have a deep understanding of how challenging it can be to learn and practice another language. My extensive training and background as a professional singer who has sung in many different languages means that I understand how to create sounds in the mouth and throat. Together, we will identify and master the sounds that are most difficult for you, so that you can integrate them more naturally into your speech.
