About David

I am a PGA Professional with over 20 years of teaching experience. I work with students of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals, and all ages. My extensive professional playing background including wins on the local, regional, and national level. In 2011 I earned the National Player of the Year Award by the PGA of America. I have a strong desire to help my students play better golf and enjoy the game even more.

I was a Physical Education major at Towson University and upon graduating decided to get into the golf business instead of teaching in the school system. My love of the game of golf helped me decide to go in that direction so that I could still teach and enjoy competing in the game of golf.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree is Physical Education, and have been a PGA of America Member since 1998. I have attended numerous educational seminars and teaching summits over the years held by some of the best golf instructors in the world.

About the lesson

The initial interview is extremely important. I want to first find out about their golf background and in what areas he or she would like to improve. I also want to know if they have any physical limitations that may affect their game. After the interview process we can get a good look at their current fundamentals while using a variety of clubs and hitting a variety of shots. We may also play a hole or two to see what they are doing on the course and if it is different from the practice areas.

I have worked with students of all levels and ages, from absolute beginners, to high school and college players, and including my fellow PGA professionals.

Do not be afraid to ask questions. Do your due diligence when it comes to selecting a teacher. A great teacher must also be a great communicator. Make sure that the two of you are on the same page when it comes to setting up your plan for improvement.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to playing the game? What areas should I work on first? How much time am I willing to commit to practice? What are some short term and long term goals?
