About Aglaia

I teach based on my student's learning styles and the goals they want to accomplish.

I add fun to my lessons and make sure they are enjoyable. I also incorporate a lot of information about Greek culture in my lessons.

I am a native speaker so I teach the correct pronunciation without any accent. I have studied modern Greek and also the Classics.

I enjoy teaching the Greek language.

Teaching a language it's a way of bringing different worlds together - it's like a bridge.

I am a people person and I love helping people get to where they want to go - learn a new language or improve of what they already know.

I have always enjoyed teaching. Throughout my professional career, I taught and trained employees in various business settings.

I also taught Greek cooking classes for a number of years.

I studied the classics for four years in high school with a concentration and in-depth studying of Ancient Greek, Modern Greek, and Latin.

I have taken professional teaching seminars in Greece and one-to-one lessons on how to convey language information.

About the lesson

I have a 15-minute discovery discussion with the student:

- Their goals in learning the language

- Their learning style

- If they have some knowledge of the language, I give an assessment test to see the level they are at.

I have worked with adults who speak other languages.

Speak with the teacher and find out if they can teach the language based on their way of learning.

When my student was able to order dinner at a restaurant in Athens and later went and bought bread from the local bakery. She felt empowered and she sent me a message to tell me about it.

When we started our lessons she did not speak any Greek.
