About Bobby

I love teaching the roots of rock and roll, and making my students get better, one lesson at a time. My motto is to laugh and learn during each lesson.

I began PT in 2013, and it took me a few month to really get my style of teaching down. Once I found my method, my schedule filled up, as I believe in making sure the student has fun learning the music they want to.

I've taught for 8 years at the School of Rock in Vienna, Virginia, which gave me the knowledge and experience to work with young students, and tailor the lesson to their individual needs.

About the lesson

The first lesson is spent getting to know each other, telling stories about our backgrounds, and for me to understand the students level of musical understanding. From there, we will find a method that works best, whether that's mainly through video and audio supplements or notation and written music.

I've worked main,y with young adults and teenagers but I've also taught adults of all ages. Mainly rock and roll, blues, and some jazz styles.

I would shop around and check out other teacher option, and if possible, take lessons from a few teachers to determine the best choice.

I love playing live shows, and recently a fan brought their song who just got started playing. I like connecting and sharing musical thoughts with young players, as it gives me a chance to give back, and reminds me of where I was when I was young .

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Communication is essential, so I encourage students to feel free to ask questions from their teacher, and continue to do so once lessons begin. The student should inquire about what kind of practice schedule will be required for the goals of the student.

My standard fee is $30/45min, as I believe 45min is the perfect amount of time for a lesson. Anything shorter or longer either is not enough time, and pushing further than the necessary time needed, in my experience.
