About the lesson

I first like to get to know the student. Interests, favorite bands, music, outside interests, etc. I like to make it about the student and learn as much as I can about them.
If the student were to be a beginner, I would teach them all the important essentials of the guitar like the design, and give the student sheets to remember.
After that, upon the student's request of a song, we learn the first chord of that song, talking about hand position, clarity of notes, etc. And that will be the goal for the first lesson. The idea is I don't want to overwhelm them with information, just enough information to challenge them a little, and get them exciting about learning guitar.
