About Cressler

Do you have an abundance of energy that needs a release? It's best to utilize that energy into creative and expressive outlets!

My name is Cressler, and I have been living music since a young age, I have been playing all sorts of instruments, singing, and dancing almost my entire life!

I am a self taught guitarist, playing for almost 20 years, along with other instruments: Acoustic Guitar, Electric guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Wooden Flutes and Hand drums, Didgeridoo, Cajon, and Vocals.

My teaching style is very fluid, depending on the student, and is Singer/Songwriter style. With the focus on developing a connection with the music...learning how draw in inspiration, and create your own style of play, while still following a customized but structured lesson plan. This allows learning fundamentals, and immediately using those fundamentals in writing your own music!

I currently spend a lot of time in the studio, and songwriting with some other fellow musicians. However, with the warmer months starting to arrive, I wish to begin offering my Inspirational and Motivational teachings in music, to students who really want to become one with their craft, and instruments.

Being a Muse-ician is more than just learning music theory, chords, scales, and practice. It is a way of understanding your reality. Hearing music, where others hear noise, dancing to songs only you can hear in your head and feeling the emotional connection with your audience as you play for them. These aren’t things you can just teach...they must be witnessed, and experienced firsthand, to be understood. After that, when that well of imagination is primed, practicing all the boring stuff, isn’t boring anymore. Its fun, exciting, and leads to hours of entertainment, for the artist as well as the listeners.

I consider myself to be more than just a teacher for my students. I am a Muse. I am a mentor and friend for my students. They don’t just learn to play music. They learn to LIVE music. I don’t have an instrument in my hands 24/7, and neither will my students...but we have our mind and our heart, and you can play music and learn music by listening almost as much as playing. My students will pick up on this, and notice things like how they feel when they hear their favorite songs and why?

Homework for them isn’t just the practice, but listening to other artists styles of play, and talking about which is their favorite, and what inspires them to emulate. Learning the connection between the emotional states to musical modes is key to becoming a true musician.

Watching my students advance, and become one with their craft! Its a beautiful, transformative time period in their lives, and I feel blessed to be the one they trust to guide them into this unknown future.

Considering I have more than 10,000 hours in writing, performing and teaching privately with friends, family and other students, I am more than capable at motivating and inspiring others to advance their musical capabilities, at almost any skill level.

After the first lesson, we begin to work through the lesson plans and develop a comfortability of playing music in front of others

Ensure that you are finding a teacher that is in alignment with your absolute goal. If you want just basic lessons, find just a basic teacher. They are a dime a dozen. If you want to become a musician, you find a musician to mentor you, and not only teach you fundamentals, but also the performance aspects and connection with your audience. Find a teacher you resonate with, and is looking out for your real benefit...not just taking your money.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why do I want to play music? What ways can I begin to involve music in my everyday life? What songs do I want to learn? How much/often am I willing to practice?

Details

Lesson costs vary, depending on the needs and involvement of the student and how often they would like interaction with me. I am almost always available to my students, should they want to video chat, or call me on the phone with questions or comments concerning the lesson, or future lessons. There are subscription options, digital tutoring, and individual sets or single lessons. I am as flexible as my musical playing styles.
