About Alex
I’ve been teaching guitar for 17 years. A wide background in many styles helps me guide students down their chosen musical path. Our lessons will be goal based and you will have a routine custom designed for you. I have a unique focus on neurology and mindfulness to ensure you advance as fast as possible.
I’ve been teaching since 16 when someone asked me to show them how to play and haven’t stopped since! Having taught from when I was a beginner kept me intimately connected to what it’s like to just be getting started on guitar.
My approach differs from other teachers because I have studied and include an understanding of neurology and mindfulness to maximize the mental benefits of learning guitar and learn in as fast as possible. I also have degrees in audio and music.

First we assess your goals and set proper expectations, then we make a plan to be implemented and then you learn how muscle memory works in the brain to maximize learning efficiency. Finally with a specific set of goals and direction, we begin learning the music that you love.
I’ve worked with people ranging from 5-69 years old from beginner to advanced and in many different styles.
Recently I had an ADHD student come to me with their distressed parent. After a few short weeks, the student gain the ability to focus longer, which manifested itself in other parts of their life.

Details
I offer one hour lessons and 30 minute lessons to students under 10 years old. Pricing can be discussed over the phone. I do offer discounted packages and immersive intensives as well.
