About Jacob

One of my favorite things is sharing knowledge and information I've learned over the years being a working musician and guitarist. Everything from music theory to gear, covering a wide range withing the world of guitar and music.

I truly enjoy getting to know how people learn and seeing someone embrace the instrument while starting to piece things together. The joy of music is meant to be shared.

My father taught on the side to help bring in some extra money, I got into it originally because of him and then took a break from it and came back to it in my 20s. Between touring and session work/gigging I love picking up students and sharing the joy of playing music.

Hands on from a young age. I grew up in a family of musicians and while I've had no formal training, I've been playing bars, music clubs and such since I was 15. I started going to college for art and music at 16 but decided to focus on recording work and touring work instead. I've been a professional musician for nearly 20 years now.

About the lesson

Talking about their level of playing, where they want to go and what kind of music they are interested in. Just getting to know the individual and their interests. Its very important to just start with a conversation. So lets start there.
