About Willman

Hi there. I'm an excellent communictor and have a reputation for making my students feel completely comfortable, respected and encouraged at all times. I really get into what will bring out the best in each and every person and how to express that through the guitar.

Music makes people happy and able to express emotions that are not always easy to communicate, so I like being able to share with others the ablity to create music, especially your own. It makes me feel good to see a student gaining understanding and confidence in their ablity to play the guitar and express their true feelings, thoughts and ideas.

My father was a musician and because he shared his passion for it with me, it made me want to share it with others.

I've been studying, taking lessons and playing in bands for over 30 years, in addition, I'm really good at working with all types of people and in all types of situations to get the best out of each and every person I'm working with.

About the lesson

I like sitting down and getting to know the person so I can tailor my approach to best fit the way they learn, and to help them with their musical goals.

I'll give the student different exercises to get a better idea of what abilities they have. My overall objective is to create a great experience of learning the guitar and make it simple to learn what they really want to learn, and be able to express themselves in a way that's important to them.

Mostly beginners and intermediate, or advanced players that are blocked or have lost their passion.

1) Take a minute to write down what you really want to accomplish.

2) Get some advice on what people consider a good teacher, not just in music, but someone that has some life experience and understands the principles of good teaching, regardless of the subject being taught.

3) Never, ever, ever, let anyone put you down or invalidate your efforts.

I have the I really want to share.

1) I was totally shocked and completely honored to get a standing ovation from my boys varsity soccer team at our annual banquet. They stood on chairs and table-tops to do it.

2) When my band beat out 15 rock and punk bands in a Battle of the Bands in Seoul, South Korea and we were a high energy Latin and World Music band.

3) Teaching guitar to a 9 year old Russian American girl, whose mother told me she would only study and play with me.
