About Nick

Music is the greatest thing in the world. I grew up listening to my parent's music and began connecting to it at a very young age. By the time I was 12 I was singing and playing along to all my favorite records and fronting my own band. By 15 I was playing live shows with Don Was and Glenn Frey and doing session work in Glenn's studio. I performed at the Panama Jazz festival at 17 with my Jazz band, performed as finalists in the Monterey Jazz High School competition, and went on to study Popular Music Performance at USC. I am currenty 25 years of age and write, produce, MD, perform, teach, and do session work for a living. My passion is sharing the gift of music with others that I cary with the utmost joy and gratitude. My goal is to help you reach your musical goals, and help you discover the ones you may not yet be aware of. I have an extensive musical vocabulary from all the listening and playing I've done accross all genres, that enriches my musical life. It ranges from early blues and American roots music all the way to contemporary pop music that can be heard everywhere today. Whether you just want to learn how to strum a few chords or develop into a fully realized proffesional musician, I know how to help you get there. I've been teaching privately in Los Angeles for 7 years and have seen it all. My students range from 7 year olds with no experience all the way to seasoned pros. Im confident I can help you meet your goals and enjoy a life of music.

I love it when my students are inpired, excited, and engaged. It means the music has hit them and all they have to do is show up and bring themselves to it. And I love seeing my students do that. I love seeing my students develop that discipline to incorporate practicing into their daily routine and watching them get better as a result.

I had private instruction from 4 different musicians before attending USC music school where I had about 5 different private instructors over the course of my 4 years there. This was in addiction to my jazz band directors in middle school and high school along with all my other music educators at USC.
