About Rorie

I am a full time performer and singer/songwriter. I have been gigging several times a week for over ten years and writing songs for twice as long. I have lived the real-world experience that cannot be taught in an academic setting and I bring all the wisdom I have gained over the years, to you.

I am really passionate about helping people raise their voices, in every sense of the word. I believe that using our gifts and our creativity is the best contribution we can make to a world that is too often full of fear and judgment. When I help someone find the courage to express their own creative gifts I know I am putting good into the world.

Over the years different people have approached me to help me with their songwriting and performance, before I thought to get into teaching. It happened enough that I started to schedule workshops and fell in love with the process of helping people unlock the music inside of them.

I am a singer/songwriter with 2 decades of experience writing, performing and releasing original music. My songs have been commissioned for documentaries and online TV, as well as receiving radio airplay throughout the country.

About the lesson

Every student has different goals and strengths and I do not believe in a one size fits all approach. My first step is always to have a conversation and learn more about you and what your goals are, and from there we can work together to build a plan that feels good for both of us.

Students of all ages and walks of life. In my group songwriting workshops, the age range is often 6 to 60. Everyone has something to contribute and it's really fun finding out what that is for each individual.

Identify what you want to get better at - get specific! Think about what your goals are. Find someone who wants to commit to those goals with you and help you shine in your own original way.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about the time you have to commit to learning - both during the lessons, and afterwards on your own. Be honest with yourself and carve out space for your own creative growth. And ask yourself what will keep you excited! You will grow faster, and be more likely to love the process, if you are working on music that lights you up.
