Always wanted to take singing lessons? Try with Michelle! Michelle is is an all around awesome person.Im in my 20s and decided to take some singing classes. I've always loved to sing but really had no clue where it comes from or what I could do to improve. Michelle really enlightened me about the inner works/mechanics of singing and had me practice regularly and push/find my limits. Understanding the theory and practicing are really key in getting to know what you can do and where you can go. Michelle would try all sorts of exercises at different levels to guide me towards that. Michelle really encouraging and gets the human/real/emotional side of singing. She is a singer, musician, song-writer herself.Michelle is so easy going and reliable. Michelle Carter has a lot of knowledge of what she is teaching (singing), always makes time for lessons, very involved in the student's goals and helps to achieve them, knows the students limits but pushes them to get better and surprise themselves.

After ending a four year relationship I decided to take singing lessons with Michelle in hopes of pulling myself out of a funk. Singing with Michelle was THE greatest decision I could have made! Michelle challenges me to set goals, learn to fearlessly express myself with my voice, and encouraged me to develop my own style. She has great tips and provides helpful and challenging exercises. I lost track of how many times I surprised myself during her instruction! She is a great teacher and mentor! Since beginning lessons with her last year, I have literally lowered my ‘singable’ range by 4 full notes. She gave me safe practice techniques, like humming while my head is lowered, to be able to get there. A lot of people think its impossible to extend your range. Not so! Just takes time, dedication and someone like Michelle to guide you.

Aside from technique and warm up, Michelle believes songs are expressions of emotion and teaches performance-oriented singing. I kind of have a weird singing voice, but she, more than any other teacher, embraced that. She thinks the world is already too full of ‘perfect voices’ - we are now in the age of ‘interesting and emotive' voices. Honesty is the new Beauty. Thanks Michelle!
