About Elisabeth

I enjoy working with students to improve their writing, academic skills and content knowledge. I take the time to prepare for each lesson and to listen and respond to student needs.

I am a history educator with eleven years of experience in the classroom. I have taught World History, the History of the United States, and AP European History. Most recently I taught at Sidwell Friends School. I have also taught at charter and traditional public schools.

To prepare me to teach, I received a B.A. in history from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an Ed.M. in Teaching and Curriculum from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.I am currently enrolled in an M.A. American Studies program at George Washington University.

About the lesson

When working with a new student I first try to understand their needs and goals then collaborate to create a plan for success. As we work together, I welcome student and parent feedback and suggestions for how to work to ensure the student's needs are met.
