About Sophia

I take a horse centered approach teaching so that, in addition to proper equitation, students learn to truly understand their horses as individuals which ultimately leads to a higher quality of their riding abilities.

I love seeing my students become more than just good riders and grow into true horse people. I seek to foster the ability of my students to understand their horse as an individual and modify their equitation to work with their horses needs for reaching their full potential.

4 years experience as an instructor for a large lesson program teaching all levels and a range of styles within the English and Western disciplines.

Working student at a small horse rescue throughout my teens and early 20's.

Equest Instructor Training Course for The Professional Association of Therapeutic Riding (PATH Intl)

Bachelors of Science in Equine Studies (in progress-Graduation date 05/2022)

I will sit down with the student have a get to know you chat about horses, their experience, what they are looking for. I’ll happily any questions they have for me as well.

I use a basic template for planning the learning experience. On day one, the information from the chat will cover the basics. I will then, depending on experience, have the student prepare and ride their horse. I will ease in and work together to find out what is comfortable and what the students skills are and where they need work.

Afterwards, I will prepare a learning plan for the student that I will share electronically and/or in person at the following lesson.

Beginners through advanced students of all ages from 5 years old to late middle age.

Western, English, Jumper, Dressage
