About Lilly

I started teaching (on occasion) when I agreed to give a few tips on running the pattern to a friend.. I loved being able to see her excel with her horse & break through blockade. It was a great feeling to help fule her fire for the sport again.. so I decided to share what I knew to people who wanted my help

I've ridden horses for over a decade and started my own equine training company in 2018. I shadowed Jack Norris for quite a long time and still do today for both equine training & farrier work. I specialize in KP rehabilitation training; problematic horses; performance training; & colt breaking. I am also an upcoming 2023 E.L.P.O certified farrier & performance barrel racer local to Colorado Springs CO.

About the lesson

When working with a student, I like to start off with the basics no matter how experienced.. build their horsemanship from the ground up. A better understanding you have of how you ride, the more in-tune you can be with your horse. I like to leave a lesson that keeps teaching, one they practice and positively l build on until the next lesson. Like a horse, when you professionally fill in the gaps in training, you set them up for success. In the long run, it allows them to discover potential off the foundation of the original and even sometimes boring work

I have worked with students of many ages, from younger children to adults.

Look for someone who not only knows how to communicate with people, but really communicates with horses too. You can't learn anything valuable from someone who doesn't understand the mind of a horse and how they operate. An instructor should be respectful but also willing to call out your needs for improvement to help you get to the place you want to be and the dream you want to achieve

I am a competitive barrel racer proudly riding for and supporting Sheridan Buckle CO.; Impact Gel; Molly's Custom Silver; Circle Y Saddles; & Flair Equine/Achieve Equine all throughout Colorado and some surrounding states

Details

I charge from $45 an hour, depending on the rider...I usually recommend a minimum of an hour for the student to really retain the perfect amount of information to build on outside of a lesson.
