About Karthika

Hi! My name is Karthika! 👋

I’m a current medical student who earned a full-ride scholarship to college after scoring in the 99th percentile on the ACT. Before medical school, I worked in healthcare, where I gained experience in leadership, communication, and problem-solving - skills I now bring into tutoring as well.

I’ve been tutoring for over 10 years and have worked with students from elementary school through college. I know firsthand that school and testing don’t always come easily for everyone, especially for students who are neurodivergent, struggle with anxiety, ADHD, confidence, or just feel overwhelmed in traditional classroom settings. Because of my own experiences, I try to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

✨ What I focus on during sessions: 

• Breaking down difficult concepts step-by-step 

• Building confidence and strong study habits 

• Adjusting lessons to each student’s learning style and goals 

• Helping students develop organization, test-taking, and time-management skills

My goal isn’t just to help students improve grades and test scores - it’s to help them feel more confident and capable overall. I love seeing students start believing in themselves and realizing they’re capable of much more than they thought.

Literacy lessons offered by Karthika are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Kingsport. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
