About Deborah
I've been knitting since 2004 and designing my own knitting patterns as Goldberry Knits since 2009. Seeing how quickly students progress makes me happy. Knitting is such a stress reliever for me that I love sharing it with others.
I worked at a local store and knit their samples and began teaching beginners. After a while, I became the go to person for customers who had a question or problem with something they were knitting. I could fix the issue or tell them what needed to be done.
I taught knitting at Dee's for several years before they stopped carrying yarn. I currently design knitting patterns and have designed for Knit Picks, Malabrigo, Knotions and others. I can teach skill level from beginning to advanced.

I will talk to them on the phone or text with them to find out their skill level. If the person is a complete beginner, I will give them some idea of what to expect and the supplies they need to get started.
Kids to seniors. Every skill level and walk of life.
You want a person who will be patient and encouraging. Knitting should be fun and relaxing, so a person who can remind you that you aren't diffusing a bomb is important but also that person needs to have the experience to help you progress your skills.
I'm currently working with Cast On Magazine, the online publication for TKGA (The Knitting Guild Association) and my sock pattern for that will be released in May.

Think about the experience you have and what you really hope to learn. How realistic are your expectations? A good teacher can help you get your skills up but you have to put in the work between classes to get the most out of your lessons.
