About Branden

I started tutoring during my stay in Korea. Since then I have had daily conversations with real Korean people. I have taken TOPIK tests and even tutored online before. I try not to focus on grammar studies, and rather focus on conversations and deeper understanding of Korean. The reason I don't focus on grammar is because grammar is something you could learn on your own. However developing the skills to communicate in Korean does not come easy.

I love the Korean language and the culture. I often make trips to Korea, and am always in pursuit of deeper understanding of the Korean language. So naturally I love to share all of the things that I love about the language and the country itself.

I had a friend who asked if I could help them learn the Korean language. After tutoring them I enjoyed it so much I wanted to try teaching others!

I studied the Korean language for two years in Korea. Furthermore, I have passed TOPIK tests, and also have 4 years of practice speaking the Korean language. I have also spent the last 2 years tentatively tutoring Korean.

About the lesson

The first step would be to establish a general Korean speaking level. Then we would start by learning the language through excersises. Like talking about magazines in depth, and so on. Since my process does not need grammar learning to succeed students will naturally develop language skill useful for conversation.

I have worked with students who struggle with the basics, and also those who are proficient but seek protection for either interviews, or jobs

My advise when searching for a teacher in language learning, is to find someone who's main focus is to help you achieve your goals. Language learning isn't just grammar and vocabulary. For example if you need to prepare for an interview in the language of focus, and the teacher spends a lesson focusing on some grammar point, then you didn't use your time to the fullest. Sure you learned a new grammar point, but how does that help you with your interview.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Important things to think about before seeking out a teacher is what your goals are. Be them short or long term. Does this teacher have valued information, or have knowledge yet to be know by me? And is the time used efficiently? I feel that time is the most important thing to think about. If a teacher does not have good time management, then even with all of the knowledge they can not help you achieve your goals.
