About Rebecca
I have been studying ASL for 2+ years at my University, and have a passion for working with deaf students. I want to be a Speech Pathologist in the future, this could not only help me progress into my career but can benefit deaf students! There are not many options for hard-of-hearing students, and the Deaf Community is something I'm very intrigued and educated on. I can teach students ASL, as well as integrate it into their daily lives. Along with this, I can help them with homework, and give them a balance of both the English language and ASL.
I began teaching after taking introductory ASL courses in school, and have grown a large passion for it.
I have worked with children for 6 years, and have helped them with school work. I have worked in many different facilities including Big Apple Academy, and Shorefront at the Y. Along with this, I have taken all the ASL classes my university has offered, and have gotten an A each time! I love ASL and think it is one of the most beautiful and intriguing languages I've learned. I am trilingual as well, so I can benefit the students in many ways.

In working with young deaf students, many of them do not know ASL or have not been exposed to the Deaf Community. Along with this, many deaf students struggle with school and do not have many options or platforms to better their education. I am hoping to not only expand their options but make them feel comfortable in their environment.
I have worked with students who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, and special needs!
I believe that I hold a unique position as a teacher, as teaching ASL is not a common option seen in tutoring websites.
