About Beck
Hello! I am a Colorado native with an associates of science from Red Rocks. I've worked a lot of jobs, from maid to cake decorator to, most recently, full time small-group math instructor with many of the responsibilities of a classroom teacher.
My favorite thing about working with students is seeing that moment where they realize they've just done something they thought they couldn't do, and are smarter than they think. This is what drew me to math education, especially as someone who struggled with math until being diagnosed with ADHD in college. My personal experience means I am very prepared to help other people learn - if one strategy doesn't work, I have a hundred more in my pocket.
I believe in the importance of a growth mindset and do everything I can to encourage my students to see themselves as capable problem solvers who can choose to be kind, learn anything, and reach their potential.
