About David
Hi! My name is David Gazewood, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Southern Maine's Extended Teacher Education Program, which has granted me the opportunity to obtain my initial teacher certification in secondary education (6-12) social studies. I have worked in education for the last four years in various capacities at different schools. Each role offered me valuable experiences in supporting the needs of diverse student populations, so they could grow as learners and individuals. I learned to center students as active participants in their education, connect with them, and collaborate.
These professional experiences in education also enhanced my ability to facilitate equitable learning environments. At each school, I taught students with a wide range of learning disabilities, varying levels of English proficiency, and different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. As a tutor, I plan to use my skill set to build your student's confidence, maximize their learning, and support them in succeeding academically.
