About Demitri
We are the only Shaolin KungFu school in Central Illinois with a direct relationship to the Shaolin Temple in Henan Province China. Our head instructor is a 32nd Generation Shaolin Disciple. We offer classes ages 4 and up, to students of any martial level and proficiency. Jade Fortress is a very Family and community oriented martial arts school that also runs a nonprofit charity organization. If you are looking for more than self defense classes but a school with a martial history, and teachings of martial etiquette. We have classes in Traditional Shaolin GongFu, Kickboxing, MuayThai, TaiJi, QiGong, Chinese language, Spanish language, and English language, we are a well rounded school that has been opened since 2003. It is a great experience to see the change in a persons life through training in the martial arts. It is an honor to have someone choose you to help them become better.
I started teaching martial arts when I was in Highschool. I was training at a gym to compete in full contact tournaments the instructor of the gym was impressed with my skill and started having me teach the other students. After awhile I developed an even stronger passion for the martial arts and decided that was going to be my career.
I am a 32nd generation disciple of the Shaolin Temple in Henan Province China. I have trained in Shaolin GongFu over 30 years and my school has been opened for almost 15 years. I have been the Martial arts choreographer for a few movies as well as being an actor myself for several tv shows in China.

When students first come to the school, we have them perform a physical fitness test. To give them a basic idea of where they are at. Also, give them there first goal to work towards.
I have worked with students of all ages, as well as students with physical and mental disabilities.
My advice to anyone wanting to find a martial arts teacher is to research a style that would be good for you. Then contact a teacher and do not be afraid to ask them questions. Find one that really has the knowledge you wish to gain.
I am 36 years old now and I was just invited to my former students wedding. I taught him when he was in 6th grade. He learned from me for only a year then his parents moved out of state. He told me that his year with me was a huge influence in his life and wanted me to be the first person he invited to his wedding.

A few questions a student should think through before contacting a teacher are. How serious am I about learning martial arts? What is my reason for wanting to learn martial arts, what do I hope to gain from learning?

Details
We work with each individual that wishes to train in KungFu at our school. So that they get a price they can personally afford. A basic pricing structure for the school is $50 a month for 1-2 days a week, $75 a month for 3 days a week, and $125 a month for 4 plus days a week.
