About Joseph

Hello! My name is Joey Harrington, and I am excited to work with you to achieve your academic goals. With over 5 years of tutoring experience, I have helped students of all ages and levels succeed in mathematics.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California in Irvine, as well as an Associates' Degree in Math and Sciences from Santiago Canyon College. For the past 3 years, I have specialized in online tutoring, providing students with personalized, one-on-one attention from the comfort of their own homes. With my educational background and tutoring experience, I am confident in my ability to help students succeed in subjects they may be struggling with. I understand that every student learns differently, and I strive to tailor my approach to each individual's unique learning style and needs.

In addition to my online tutoring experience, I have also worked as a Student Instructor at Santiago Canyon College, where I led study sessions for college students in math. This experience has given me valuable insights into the challenges that students face when studying math, and I have developed effective strategies to help students overcome these obstacles.

I started teaching math at Santiago Canyon College. Working with the students there, I found that helping them understand and excel in their math coursework was very rewarding. As I continued to teach, I began to explore different teaching methods and strategies, and eventually transitioned to becoming an online math tutor. Through my online tutoring experience, I have been able to reach and help students from around the world, and have found a great deal of fulfillment in seeing students achieve their academic goals.

I hold an Associates' Degree in Math and Sciences from Santiago Canyon College, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California in Irvine. Over the past 5 years, I have honed my tutoring skills and techniques through working with students of all ages and levels, both in-person and online. My 3 years of online tutoring experience have given me the ability to connect with students from around the world and provide them with personalized, one-on-one attention. In addition, my experience working with college students at Santiago Canyon College has allowed me to develop effective strategies for helping students succeed in math and economics courses.

About the lesson

4. Establishing a plan of action: Based on the student's goals and current level of knowledge, create a plan of action outlining the topics I will cover and the strategies I will use to help the student achieve their goals.

5. Communicating regularly: Regular communication with the student is key to building a strong and effective tutoring relationship. Checking in with the student regularly to assess progress, addressing any concerns or questions they may have, and providing feedback on their performance is key to their success.

I have worked with students of many ages, from elementary school to college. Students often have different personalities and learning styles, which can be a common challenge when teaching. In my experience, engaging them in the lesson, varying my teaching methods, offering breaks, providing challenges, and building relationships are efficient ways to help students who may have trouble focusing, as well as those who find traditional methods of learning difficult.
