About Alexandra

I am always excited to start work with children! I like to build a relationship with my students and really work hard to help them understand concepts. I grew up with anxiety and depression, so I can understand when things can tough or frustarting. I have the patience and experience to work through it!

I am a graduate from the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology and I'm working with my Teaching Certificate for Biology in Secondary Education. I have studied a significant amount of psycholgy that make my services feel more personal and connected with my students. I am new tutor, but I can prove myself quite quickly with my experience otherwise.

I have a degree in psychology from University of Michigan and I'm studying to be a Secondary Education teacher! I think that combination of things lends me a particular insight in how children behave in order to implement proper care and lessons. I grew up surrounded by cousins younger than me, and I love taking the opportunity to help them with school.

About the lesson

I like to get to know my students: their hobbies, their lifestyles, what they are currently into. I want to be able to get a feel for their personality so I can apply lessons in a way that works best for the student. I am believer in personalized, one-on-one teaching style that can be customized for each students learning style. My goal is to use my connection with my students in order to help complete lessons and homework.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
My advice to students is to think to themselves, what about the lessons seem complicated? For me, I grew up with relative understanding of things, but more often or not I tended to memorize. I think it's more important to understand the full concept. My advice to not to be afraid to ask questions! It's easy to get overwhelmed and it's important for teachers to pause and give a full, precise explanation to any questions a student has.
