About Adam

Greetings Learners!

I worked for over a decade as a Chemical Engineer for several fortune 500 companies around the country before starting my own business and working primarily from home.

I began home schooling my children 4 years ago and found that I loved being able to share my knowledge and experience with others. This led to me tutoring and instructing Physics, General and Physical Science, as well as Algebra 1 and 2 to groups of high schoolers and college students.

I am highly fluent in technology for connecting with my students, and am flexible and versatile in a wide range of subjects.

I have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University plus 10+ years of industry experience and 4+ years of teaching experience.

Put me to work to help yourself or you student succeed!

I love seeing understanding come together for a student. There's nothing quite like seeing the light come on and a student truly understand what they are seeing. It makes all the time spent well worth it!

Following college I spent over a decade working as a chemical engineer where I used my knowledge of chemistry, physics, algebra and more to solve real world problems and improve the performance of multi-million dollar manufacturing facilities. I specialized in problem solving as well as training and instruction of new production operators and trainees.

Then about 5 years ago, my wife and I started our own business and I transitioned into working from home full time.

We also made the decision to home school our 3 children at that time and I discovered that many students struggle to really understand and apply math and science, especially in middle and high school. I began doing some tutoring and small class instruction and found I had a knack for connecting with students and making complicated subjects easy to understand and apply.

When meeting a new student I like to chat a bit about their learning styles and preferences and see if we are a good personality fit. I try to set out clear expectations from the student and parents and ensure that I can fulfill them to the best of my ability. I see my role as a partner to the student and and parent in getting the best possible outcomes.

I primarily work with high school and collegiate students in higher level science and mathematics. Many of my students are doing collegiate Chemistry or Physics specifically, while many of my mathematics students are in their Junior or Senior years of high school.

I would advise you consider the personality of your perspective tutor as much as their resume. While many people can understand complex scientific and mathematical concepts, there are far fewer that can explain these ideas to someone learning it for the first time. I find the best tutors focus on their students needs and styles more than their own sense of self importance.
