About Ariel
Mathematics can be a difficult subject to grasp; however, it can be practiced like a skill. I hope to follow the common core guidelines that most teachers teach by, but also give some new concepts and ideas for the subject. Every student deserves the time and creative ideas for their learning experience.
I love all forms of mathematics wheither it be basic math, algerbra, or calculus. I plan on becoming a high school math teacher in the near future. All of the students I have tutored have been college algerbra and calculus I students.
Most of the students I have helped in the past do not get help until it is nearly too late. Every student has potential to pass math courses; however, many students do not feel as though they do. Something I have noticed within my students is their performance greatly enhances when they give themselves the proper confidence. I hope to engrain that same confidence in every person I teach.
I enjoy helping people. My favorite part of my work is when someone is starting to show confidence in mathematics. I am so proud of the students I helped find their way to pass algebra or calculus. I hope that there will be no division between 'math people' and everyone else. I am confident that there is a 'math person' engrained in all of us. Some of us just need the proper tools and/or time.
I am currently going to college to become a high school math teacher. By May, I will obtaine an Associate of Science Degree and Associate of Arts Degree. I am close to an elementary teacher whom teaches Create at Popps Ferry Elementary. She often teaches me ways to help students grasp new ideas. She is my inspiration to become an amazing teacher.

I will first study the material the student has given. I will then find what I think is the teacher's style and patterns. When in a session with a student I first follow that same style. If that is not working, I will try to slowly show the student new concepts. Every student has a unique process of learning mathematics.
