About Melissa

My name is Melissa, I live in South Carolina and I’m a recent Central Carolina Technical College graduate. I received certifications in Inpatient and also Outpatient Medical Record Coding. During my time at Central I was apart of the Phi Theta Kappa, as well as getting awards and being recognized for my grades and overall performance in my 2 years of attending Central Carolina. I am a mother of 3 and a bonus mommy to 2 and I homeschool all my children. My step son is in 4th grade and he does homeschooling with Cyber Academy. With my 6 and 7 year old, I do South Carolinas option 3 for homeschooling and they’re apart of the Hometown Homeschool Association. It gives us the freedom to choose our own curriculum, to teach my children in a one-on-one setting, and allows them to learn and progress at their own pace. This is my second year homeschooling my kids and I have loved every bit of it. I love teaching a new concept and watching them grasp it and hit all of their milestones. Before I had kids, while I was still in High school, I took Early Childhood Education for 2 years. It taught me a lot and helped prepare me for motherhood. I have a passion for teaching and although I shifted towards the medical field for a short period of time, teaching is and always has had a special place in my heart. Throughout my years in school I always pushed myself to do the best possible and had a hard time learning the traditional way that things were taught so I would come up with my own methods, or tricks, to help me comprehend certain lessons. Now, having kids of my own and homeschooling them, I’m able to pass down those same methods to them. Math was always my strong subject and I was always so excited for Math class because I felt confident in my work. I hope to be able to pass what I’ve learned down to other kids and help them achieve their goals and hit their milestones as well. I believe every child progresses at their own pace and I would love to get the opportunity to help your kids become confident in their ability to do their work and help them to be successful. I welcome any feedback and will accommodate to any needs, or concerns, that parents may suggest. ❤️
