About Alex
My name is Alex Thiga, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as a potential tutor for your educational journey. With five years of experience in the field of mathematics, coupled with a passion for inspiring students to reach their fullest potential, I am confident in my ability to support and guide you in your academic endeavors.
I hold a Bachelors in Statistics from North Carolina State University, where I honed my skills and knowledge in mathematics and statistics.
What I love most about tutoring is the opportunity to witness the "aha" moments when students grasp challenging concepts and develop newfound confidence in their abilities. My approach to tutoring is personalized and adaptive, tailoring each session to meet the unique learning style and goals of every student. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, I aim to cultivate a passion for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
What sets my tutoring services apart is my commitment to holistic education. Beyond academic success, I strive to instill critical thinking skills, effective study habits, and a growth mindset in my students, empowering them to become lifelong learners equipped to tackle any challenge they may encounter.
In addition to my expertise in mathematics and statistics, I bring to the table a range of special skills and methods, including inquiry-based learning, socratic questioning, differentiated instruction, mind mapping and conceptual mapping. Whether it's through interactive activities, real-world examples, or multimedia resources, I am dedicated to making learning engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for all.
