About Valeria
I am currently a pre-nursing student at CSULB and I really enjoy helping other people. In highschool, I earned my IB diploma (more difficult courses than IB) and excelled especially in math. I tutored during my senior year and helped raise their grades by at least one letter grade. I'm very patient and outgoing. I've worked on being able to communicate clearly, and have developed the skills to teach others.
My teacher encouraged me to start tutoring because he felt that I could really use my skills to help others. I began tutoring one of his other students and really enjoyed it because I got the opportunity to see her grow and succeed. I am also a very patent person so this job really suits me.
I have my highschool IB diploma after taking Algebra 1 and 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calc, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, IB math HL, and Statistics in college.
I have also tutored some of my fellow classmates, friends' little siblings. neices, and other younger students.

I evaluate what level the student is at and what is most likely causing their troubles (whether it's the way the material is being taught or there's a concept the haven't been able to fully comprehend). I try to explain things differently to see what clicks. I also enjoy teaching why things are the way they are rather than just having them memorize steps. This way, they actually can retain the information.
