About Donna
*State certified elementary teacher, specializing in mathematics for 10 1/2 years
*Bachelors of Science in Elem. Education and Masters in Teacher Leadership
*With student engagement and parental support, my goal is to determine student’s weakest mathematical concept(s) and focus on each until absolute mastery is achieved.
Before graduating high school, I aspired to be a X-ray technician. Plans were diverted and I ended up owning and operating a childcare facility. From this experience, I discovered how much I love teaching children. The joy I get from seeing a child’s eyes light up when their “light bulb” goes off is beyond gratifying!
Extensive background in teaching various academic levels of elementary mathematics, particularly with Ky Common Core Academic Standards.

The first step of determining student need is to assess the student with a pre-test (unless parent requests specific focus area(s)). Thereafter, engaging lessons are designed around the data collected. Student strengths and weakness are noted throughout the course of all sessions. Spiral review of previous lessons is frequent to ensure content retention.
Primarily 5th grade students in the general education and exceptional needs classroom population. Throughout the years, I have worked hand in hand with students down to 3rd grade, and up to 6th grade.
Come into the tutoring process with a mindset that EVERYONE has a weakness in something! Yours just happens to be a certain math concept(s).
