About Britini

Create, Dream, Achieve Tutoring stands out as a K-4 Mathematics tutoring program because we are led by a certified teacher who has a deep understanding of the subject matter. We offer both small group and one on one tutoring options, which allows us to cater to different learning styles and preferences. We also prioritize personalized learning by having a learning consultation with parents before starting tutoring, where we discuss students' learning goals and create an individualized plan for them. Additionally, we are currently offering one free hour of tutoring for all new students and a free assessment to help us understand their current academic level and needs. These unique features set us apart from other tutoring programs and make us an appealing option for parents and students.

I enjoy the work I do because it allows me to help students thrive in Math. I love being able to assist them in reaching their learning goals and building their confidence. I also enjoy the creativity that comes with creating meaningful activities and lessons for them to work on.

I started tutoring because of my passion for education and helping students succeed. I have always enjoyed teaching and working with children, and I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and History. After completing my degree, I began working as a classroom teacher in grades K-4. I quickly realized that I enjoyed the one-on-one aspect of teaching, and I wanted to focus more on supporting individual students and helping them achieve their academic goals. This led me to pursue tutoring, which allows me to work closely with students and tailor my teaching approach to their specific needs and learning styles. I find tutoring to be a rewarding and fulfilling career, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of my students.

I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education and History from the College of New Jersey. This degree program provided me with a strong foundation in teaching methods, curriculum development, and assessment strategies. In addition to my degree, I have several years of teaching experience in grades K-4. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the common challenges and learning needs of students at this age. I am also a certified elementary educator in NJ, which means I have met all of the state's requirements for teaching at the elementary level. In terms of my work experience, I have worked in both urban and suburban school districts, such as Newark and Hillsborough NJ. This has given me a broad range of experience working with students from different backgrounds and with diverse learning needs. Overall, my education and training have prepared me well for my work as a tutor, and I am confident in my ability to support students in achieving their academic goals.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student involves several steps. First, we have a learning consultation with families to discuss the child's strengths and areas of improvement in math. This allows us to get a better understanding of the child's needs and how we can best support them. Next, students complete a math diagnostic to see where they are in their math skills. This diagnostic helps us identify the student's current level and any gaps in their understanding. Based on the results of the diagnostic, we create a customized learning plan for the student. This plan outlines the specific goals and objectives we will work on during tutoring sessions. Once the learning plan is in place, we begin tutoring by starting at the student's current level and working through the plan step by step. Our tutoring sessions are tailored to the individual student, so they can move at their own pace and focus on the areas they need the most support with. We also provide regular feedback and progress updates to families to keep them informed on their child's progress. Finally, at the end of the tutoring program, students complete another diagnostic to measure their growth and progress. This allows us to see how much the student has learned and where they still need additional support.
