About Taesha

We use math daily. We may not notice it, but we do. Whether we are counting how many eggs we have left or how much time is left in cooking our favorite dish, it is essential to us! Let me help you begin to love why it is important and fun! Yes, challenges can be fun too! I converted to a stay-at-home mom when I had my daughter because I wanted hands on teaching her all the skills I had grew to love. I previously was a certified 5th grade teacher (every subject taught) and now both of my daughters are in Dallas ISD TAG program. The youngest is in Kindergarten. I want the kids to understand that "knowledge is power" and introduce them to newer and older ways of solving equations while still learning.

I enjoyed math. I have always enjoyed something that presents a challenge. I knew that I could influence others to love it like I do.

I was previously a licensed Elementary Education teacher in Louisiana in every core subject.

About the lesson

I will first develop a rapport to make the student feel comfortable in my presence. We will review the lesson taught by the teacher and proceed to engage in the learning process. Before every lesson, we will review what was previously covered.

I have had the pleasue to work with kids whom were at the top of their level so I would assign additional work for them to not limit their abilities. I have also had students who struggled in their work but found that they had many distractions as well. I used my free time to work with them on skills needed so they would not have to fall behind.

Make sure that the teacher loves what they do. I believe a part of success had to love it. If you enjoy baking bread, a job in engineering my not be for you. Yes, you have proven you can do the job at its best, but how long before you tire of bordem or anger from it.

I remember a student (first and last name) and how other teachers would like to keep me aware that he would try to "break me down" to say, but I did not allow his need for attention to disrupt anyone else from learning. I gave him attention that I care about his progress and that I could help him get to where he needed to be but we would have to work together. Yes. he did try to break me down but I didnt give up on him. He actually became somewhat of an example that you can defy the odds that my be against you. Hard work does pay off. He earned that promotion to the next grade. He became less disruptive and more mannerable. I believe it was because he grew to know I believed in him as well and he did not want to let me down. He did not. He achieved all he put his mind to in accomplishing hisi goals.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Teachers are there to help first. Always talk! No question is not worth asking especially if you can not comprehend what they are trying to get you to understand.
