About Collin
During these challenging times of new learning it's important to have all the help you can get! I come from a coaching and teaching background of three years. I have experience both inside and outside the classroom. This year I have ventured away from traditional teaching and want to help students in the El Paso area with after school support while we are in this virtual learning setting, so they can achieve even higher accomplishments than they thought possible.
I have a Texas Teaching Certification for grades PK-6.
I love seeing the "lightbulb" moment when students understand the content that I am teaching! Seeing the light in their eyes when they understand and are enjoying themselves makes it all worth it!
After leaving the Army with an honorable discharge, I wanted to dive back into what I loved, swimming and coaching. Once I realized that I could make this a full time affair, I received my Bachelors degree from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in Elementary Education and American Studies! I have then since moved to El Paso with my husband, who is still in the Army, and have began my teaching career here in El Paso!
I was a Pre-Kindergarten aide, fifth grade teacher and third grade teacher here in El Paso! I have also been a swim coach for many years, working with children from ages four all the way to twelve years old!

I love to get to know my students before diving into content. It's important to have a relationship and understand my students, to better establish the learning environment. If I can get my students to have fun and not even know they are learning, I've accomplished a great task and so have they!
I have worked with students from all across the board. ESL, general studies, and some autistic children as well!
It is important to be open to different kinds of teachers. All teachers have different styles of teaching just like you as students have different ways you prefer to learn. Try out different teachers to find one that you know will help you achieve your goals!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should first understand what they need before trying to get help, what do I want to achieve by the end of my time with this teacher? How hard am I willing to work? How long do I have to achieve my goals? And most importantly, how can I have fun while also learning?

Perfect! It was our first time hiring a tutor online so we were quite nervous about it. I always did better with person to person tutoring but my daughter was really struggling with Geometry and needed help. McCall Tutoring has helped us tremendously! My daughter (9th grade) felt comfortable right away with them. They are professional and know how to explain and teach math problems. If they weren't sure about a certain problem they made sure to get the correct information and send it to us. I am so grateful for them and my daughter doesn't feel "dumb" anymore.
