About Holly

Hello! I am Holly Earl. I currently am a student at Marquette University in the College of Nursing, and my background with Math started in High School. I tutored in Algebra I & II, as well as basic concepts, and Geometry. I studied Calculus in High School and achieved a score of a 5/5 on my AP Calculus BC exam. I love to find new ways to help teach math to fit unique learning styles and maximize understanding of the concepts behind a mathematical theory! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

I started teaching my younger sisters in their math classes, and I always found it enjoyable to try and understand the way that they learned the material differently from myself. I found the challenge of transferring my understanding of math to whoever I was teaching very interesting, and it was always Great when understanding finally set in!

I have tutored in various math subjects before, I have achieved a High School GPA of a 3.89, and a AP Calculus BC score of a 5/5. I am BLS AHA CPR Certified, and I have had experience working with children in schools before through my Nursing Clinical.

About the lesson

I like to assess the way a new student learns at the very beginning, and understand the way they approach new material. After this I find it important to set a schedule for the material to be covered, and a method of accountiability in place to ensure success. I also like to conduct systematic reviews of progress in material understanding and ensuring that the current process is successful, and adjust it if necessary. If a score below 100% is achieved, the material will be reviewed in order to target the points where understanding of the material is lacking.

I have worked with students of various ages ranging from 2nd grade material to college level.

I would advise to ensure that the tutor has a deep understanding of th ematerial, themselves, in order to ensure that they will be able to adapt to any learning style presented.

A recent event I am fond of is being able to spend a month at home due to school being transferred online. I am appreciative of the extra time I have gotten with my family as a result!
