About Nicholas
For as long as I can remember, learning for its own sake has been a fun part of my life. From a gifted course track in elementary school, to a magnet middle school, to graduating from the International Baccalaureate program in high school, I was always taking on the highest level of education I could. My college years were rewarding and landed me a well paying job I worked at happily until the pandemic struck and my position was closed. In the interim time, I have decided to take advantage of my time and youth in pursuit of finding myself. Between tutoring and preparing myself to teach English overseas, I'm exploring the potential passion for teaching that seems to so easily follow the passion for learning.
Though my formal work experience was not in the realm of teaching or tutoring, I was one of the primary guiding forces in a fledgling programming/computer science club in my high school years. Some friends and I began the club together, and though our recruited membership was meager at the time, we were passionate. Club meetings would usually consist of explanations of topics we found interesting -such as understanding base-2, base-8, base-10, and base-16- and guided activities based around applications of said topics. It is always a priceless moment to see another come to that moment of understanding that you yourself had some time prior.
