About Christina

I am a graduate student pursuing my Master's in Elementary Education, as well as K-12 reading specialist certification. I currently have my Bachelors degree in Education and I am a state certified teacher.

I love teaching, I've worked in a learning enviornment for 5 years now.

I am up to date on new teaching styles, common core and PA state standards for each grade.

I enjoy making educational games that get students engaged and help them enjoy the learning process.

I have a space available to tutor, complete with my educational tools.

In order from least recent to most

I worked at a daycare for 2 years, where I founded their preschool program, wrote their behavior management system, and I created and implemented curriculum based on early childhood standards.

I interned at Boyertown Elementary where I assisted my mentor teacher with classroom work, creating assessments, implemented district standard testing, created and taught lessons in all grade 3 subjects.

I student taught at Tilden Elementary where I took over the whole class for 3 months. I created a taught small group reading, math, social studies and science lessons. I created and implemented interventions for students falling behind and create more challenging curriculum for students who were fast paced.

I taught at Adventure Academy for 2 years. There I taught the toddler room, mainly focusing on phonemic awareness. I also taught preschool where I created standard driven curriculum, mainly in math and reading.

I graduated from Kutztown University with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I am now a certified teacher in the state of Pennsylvania. I am enrolled in Kutztown's Accelerated Reading Specialist program where I am working towards my Master's.

About the lesson

Typically, I start by giving a survey to the gaurdian. This gives me an idea of thier concerns, if anything has been put into place prior (maybe through the school) and the specific needs of the student.

I also conduct a super relaxed interview (conversation) with the student to find out their attitude towards school an each specific subject, if they think they need help with anything specific and what they expect from me.
