About Michelle
I'm a patient and highly experienced math tutor and former teacher. I also do all sections of ACT and SAT prep. I like to crack jokes to lighten the mood and tailor my approach to each student based on their personality. I can usually assess a student's strengths and weaknesses within two sessions. My goal is to build their confidence by first modeling how to solve a problem, then guiding them through several problems by asking questions like, “What do you do first?” or “How do you know?”—until they’re able to do it on their own. Over the years, I’ve developed my own ways of explaining concepts, often using metaphors instead of technical terms that might be harder for a student to grasp. Visit my website to learn more about me or find me on FB. I'm known for being easy-going and flexible. I also offer packaged rates.
