About Oscar
I am an experienced Tutor/Instructor with close to 10 years of experience. I have been tutoring a variety of students from different ages, nationalities, and backgrounds. I am very patient and I know how to help you reach your goals. What I love about tutoring the most is seeing my students make progress and succeed. I have helped multiple students improving their grade after tutoring them. My tutoring philosophy is that on top of regular tutoring, students are to be mentored and encouraged.
First, I know my subjects pretty well. I also exceed student's expectations by providing a variety of ways that leads to the same result. This gives the student the opportunity to think outside the box instead of memorizing just one way of doing things. I always make sure my students understand what they are doing by challenging them with questions. I give a lot of illustrations to help them solve problems quicker by relating stories to what they like or are familiar with.
I am a natural French speaker and I have experience tutoring French. I have studied in French all the way to my Bachelor's degree. I don't just tutor French, I create student's engagement by making the language fun, exciting and easy.
I can guarantee my students that they will be very satisfied with my service. My experience in tutoring coupled with my passion makes a nice blend for a great tutoring experience. I am very flexible and very patient with my students.
I was given the opportunity to teach my first Mathematics class in the City Colleges of Chicago. It was a very easy course to teach. Thankfully, I did great and the Chair of the Mathematics department gave me more classes to teach the following semester.
I have been a Math and Statistics intructor/tutor for almost 10 years in the subjects of Mathematics and Statistics. I have thaught from high school to college and university level.

Icebreaking is always my first step. I make sure I get to know my students by gaging their interest. I let them know that I am here to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Then we get to discuss his/her strengths and weaknesses in the subject. We also discuss the student's goals and draft together a an plan that we will follow. The plan is not perfect but can be changed and improved overtime.
I have worked with all kinds of students: young, young adults, adults learners. My students have ranged from elementary to high school, college and university levels. I have also tutored and taught professionals.
I would ask the student to take a look at the rating of the teacher and and the feedback from previous students.
