About Christopher
Having been part of a highschool robotics team for 4 years and being in a collegiate design series team for three years now, I've had a lot of experience applying my math, physics, and engineering skills to real-world applications.
One issue I always have had in school is that teachers never have much of an opportunity to show their students the real-world application behind things. Above all else, I love helping people learn and showing them how what they learn can be applied to things in real life because in the end, that's what teaches them the best and actually instills a love of learning. I aim to make my tutoring/teaching as fun and relavent as possible, and give students a reason to be excited to learn aside from doing well in a class or acing an exam.
In terms of my experience, I've frequently gone back to mentor students in my high-school robotics team, and help them with what they need to think through a design, whether it be teaching them the relevant math/physics behind it, or giving them general advice. At my university, I am a TA for a class in which students learn to operate heavy machinery. In my university design team, I have to apply a lot of the engineering skills that I've learned through my three years of college to design and build an off-road competition car.
I really enjoy seeing my students improve and seeing how much they can develop. It's incredibly rewarding to see someone master something before your own eyes, and even more so when you know you helped guide them.
My teaching really started when I got hired as a TA for a machining class in my university. This class only has 10 students, and the professor and I are the only instructors. Since it's such a small class, I get a lot of one-on-one time with my students. This helped me develop my skills as a teacher but also made me enjoy teaching and guiding students, as I found it to be so rewarding when I saw a student excel at what I taught them.
As mentioned in my about section, I've been an engineering student for thre years, now entering my senior year. I've had a lot of experience from my highschool robotics and university motorsports/design team in using my math/physics/engineering skills. I've taken math classes up to differential equations/multivariate calculus, have taken classes of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of solid, and many more.

I want to get to know the student and really see how they learn best. Whenever I teach a new person, whether it be a student I TA for, a student I mentor in my robotics team, or a fellow teammate in my motorsports/design team, I always take a bit of time to see what they respond best to. Do they need to know all the theory behind something? Do they need to do it a lot? Do they need a graphical or a verbal explanation? I prefer taking a bit of time initially to find out all of this, as it speeds stuff up later.
I've generally worked with highschool students and college students, ranging in age from 14-22.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask yourself what you're trying to get out of this, what you really want to learn. Are you trying to become a better test taker in that subject? Do you want to focus on a broad subject or a specific topic? Are you doing this to help in a class or just expand/reinforce your knowledge in general? Unfortunately, sometimes school systems are more focused on creating good test-takers and not necessarily teaching a topic well, and as such doing well in a class vs reinforcing knowledge will require different learning/teaching strategies.
