About Benjamin

Hi everyone! My name is Benjamin Palladino, and I am an honors electrical engineering student at the University of Central Florida. I am from Southington, CT, and graduated from the Project Lead the Way Program at Southington High School in 2019. I have always been passionate about learning, and now that I've experienced my first steps of a college education I have found I love to teach others. I am very proficient in many mathematics and physics courses (as they are the foundation of my major). I would love to work with you! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy the outdoors, playing guitar, working on projects, and volunteering for recylcling/cleanup initatives.

Helping students to achieve their goals and understand complex topics really excites me. For those looking to gain a higher education in STEM fields, mathematics and science are truly the backbone of the industry. By helping people to understand these foundational ideas, I know I am helping to strengthen the future of STEM.

In my first semester of college, I found myself a frequent attendee of calculus reviews throughout the semester. In this review sessions, I noticed that I was often explaining the concepts to other people; and helping others to explain difficult concepts was something that I really enjoyed!

I have gone through four years of high school engineering in the nationally recognized and accrediated Project Lead the Way program. This program used complex math and science concepts throughout all four years. Alongside this, I have taken honors mathematics courses from 8th grade to graduation, ranging from college algebra to AP Calculus. As a college student in the honors program at UCF, I have completed a college calculus with analytic geomtery course, and I am currently nearing the end of of my 2nd college calculus course. Next semester I will be taking calculus 3, and afterwards, differential equations.

About the lesson

Upon starting with a new student, I love to video chat or phone call just to get to know what the student is looking to improve. Based on this, I make a plan for steps that can achieve that improvement, as well as review any given topics that I can help explain to the student.

For a student looking to hire a tutor, I think there are three important factors.

1) Is the tutor willing to work customizable to your needs? If not, this is not a worthwhile investment, because no matter how intelligent the tutor is, she or he may not be able to help achieve your goals!

2) Does the tutor have the education to back it up? Someone with no apparent credentials may not be the most trustworthy to teach complex topics.

3) Does the tutor charge a fair price? If you find the hourly rate of tutor higher to be obsurd; changes are, it probably is. A higher price may seem like a better option, but is not always worth the investment when there are much more flexible and caring tutors.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should make sure that the goal achievement does not lie entirely in their hands. If the reason for consulting a tutor is because of unwillingness to work hard, the tutor may not be able to help! On the other hand, I can share tips and tricks that I've learned through experience and psychology courses for success.
