About Jessica
I'm a passionate and dedicated educator with close to a decade of experience teaching and tutoring students who have varying needs, including those who are neurotypical and neurodiverse. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from University of Redlands and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Chapman University. Due to my diverse teaching experience, I can provide tools and resources to help my clients and students develop personalized learning strategies.
The teaching methods I use to assist students in achieving academic success are based on empathy, patience, and careful attention to detail. I also use my creativity to engage with my students, making my sessions fun and meaningful learning experiences. However, I understand the academic difficulties that my students face as I struggled with my learning challenges since preschool. I was later diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) in my college years. My experiences as a student led me to embrace and accept my learning differences. My mission is to inspire my students to discover their inner strengths and compensate for their challenges.
