About Keerthana

I am a Dentist based in the Bay Area. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery from Kamineni Institute of Dental Sciences, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, India in 2018. I am on the path to gaining licensure in the US. I was born and brought up in the Bay Area, and decided to pursue college abroad. I had all my primary education in America, so I am familiar with the education system. I have a passion for teaching and sharing my knowledge. I truly believe it is the greatest act of service! I am interested in pursuing academia in the future along with clinical practice. I graduated dental school with a 4.0 GPA and with high honors every semester. However, my real strength lies in my passion for teaching and making difficult concepts easily understandable for the next generation of professionals. I started off as a peer tutor in dental school, and have been tutoring dental and medical students for about 10 years now. I have achieved academic and clinical excellence throughout the years and have passed the NBDE part 1 & 2 exams in 2020(Dental equivalent of USMLE). Over the past three years, I have worked in dental clinics in the Bay Area, and have a strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and patient management in the U.S. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping upcoming health care professionals achieve their goals and succeed in their field!

I find enjoyment and fulfillment in helping students grasp difficult concepts with ease. Simplifying complex topics is quite enjoyable to me! I love tutoring, being a student mentor, and helping individuals succeed in life. I have tutored several students throughout my life and I would love to help anyone that is willing to put in dedicated time and effort.

I started off as a peer tutor in dental school and have continued to tutor in the biological and dental/medical sciences ever since.

I have a Bachelor's in Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from India, and three years of experience working in the dental field in the U.S. Throughout my training, I worked closely with my medical school colleagues and tutored medical students as well throughout college in the common core subjects(Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, General Surgery, General Medicine)

About the lesson

Initially, I like to review the structure of the syllabus with a new student to understand what we are working towards. I like to ask the student what their specific goals and learning styles are, and come up with a specific teaching plan that would be the best fit for the individual. I believe that having a strong foundation of core concepts is essential to set yourself up for success!

I have worked with dental students, medical students, and high school/college students.

Try having a good idea of your learning style and timeline of goals you want to accomplish. If you have a good idea of your weak areas, we can start working on those right away. I believe in building a strong foundation of core concepts before delving into more complex topics.
